Covid-19 Medicine Race

Covid-19 Medicine Race began on 20 June, 2020 when Glenmark Pharmaceutical a drug major became the first Indian Company to commercially launch an Antiviral drug called the Favipiravir under the Brand Fabiflu, for the treatment of mild and moderate Covid-19 patients.

Then on 22nd June Remdesivir Injection was launched by Cipla and Hetero, claiming to treat Patients with serious health condition.

And then on 23rd June the Coronil was Launched.

What is Coronil?

Coronil is just the Brand name it’s not a medicine, the main ingredient in the Coronoil is the “Swasarivati and Swasari Pravahi” these are Ayurvedic name.

Swasarivati and Swasari Pravahi are very old medicines, Patanjali has been selling it from a very long time.

It was mainly distributed as a claim to help people with their breathlessness or who have breathing problems.

So when Swasarivati and Swasari Pravahi was used on Corona Patients on their clinical trial, they saw a very good response and claimed that the patients were cured in a very short time.

How Coronil Works?

Coronil is an Anti-Asthmatic medicine mainly for Asthama Patients, who suffer from severe breathlessness.

It’s main mechanism of action is that it’s a type of Bronchodialator, meaning it helps in proper Airway passage inside the lungs or specifically inside the Bronchioles present inside the lungs, by opening the Bronchioles and thus letting the Air flow properly.

Coronil also performs another action mainly known as Mucolytics Action meaning it helps in thining the mucus which is then easily absorbed by the body or thrown out of the body.

Main symptoms of Covid-19:

The main symptoms that a Covid patient feels are mucus filling, lungs blockage, breathlessness, sore throath.

These are also the symptoms of Lung infection.

So the Swasarivati and Swasari Pravahi are being used to treat Lung infection since a very long time and keeping the symptoms of Covid-19 in mind the Coronil was made with the same ingredients.

Main Ingredients of Coronil:

There are more than 100 compounds used in the Coronil but there are 16 main types of Jadi Buti in the coronil, which are as follows:

  • Black Papper
  • Ashwagandha
  • Giloy
  • Clove or Lavang
  • Cinnamon or Dal chini
  • Tulsi
  • Moleti
  • Bhringraj

All these mainly helps in the Process or action of Bronchodialator and Mucolytics.

How does Coronil Works?

So whenever a Coronavirus patient gets positive of the virus, the virus starts spreading in the body in a very fast pace, causing a inflammatory response in the body meaning the virus causes inflammation in the lungs, causing a lot of mucus filling in the lungs, leading to breathlessness in the patient.

The patients oxygen level also starts decreasing, this is why serious Patients of coronavirus are put on Ventilators or given Artificial oxygen to help them breath.

It was also claimed that the Coronil has an Anti-oxidant action, which helps in regeneration of damaged cells.

Does Coronil really help a Coronavirus Patient?

Yes, if it says that it helps in Bronchodialator and Mucolytics action, and helps in the Air passage the yes, it is very helpful for Coronavirus patient.

As if a Coronavirus Patient takes the coronil, he/she will not face any breathlessness and can breathe naturally and easily and the oxygen saturation level will also be maintained.

Recommended dosage and what time to take?

As per Panajali, 2 tablets should be consumed with hot water half an hour after meals. It is suitable for people between 15 to 80 years of age.

These will be written instructions on the pack too.

Are there any side effects?

In a same way Coronil Medicine has some side effects, like if it did not suit someone, then the person might face some Stomachache or some Gastric irritation and in some cases Loose motions.

Can Coronil be used in Pregnancy?

No, Coronil should not be used or taken by a Pregnant lady.

Now let’s come to the main Topic.

Should we take Coronil? Should a Coronavirus Patient take Coronil?

The latest reports presented by Patanjali, showed that the Coronil was indeed effective and helped the patients recover fast, but all the patients who were given the Coronil were between the age group of 35-45 — mainly young, and they all were either asymptomatic or had mild symptoms.

So, what does it mean, it means that the Coronil is effective and can help you with speedy recovery or may help prevent the virus attack by controlling its power.

But the main factor here is your immune system or simply your health. You must have heard “Prevention is better than Cure” it’s better to improve you health by improving your habits like eating healthy and working out.

And if you decide to take Coronil just to be extra safe, please consult with your doctor  first.

But always remember “Prevention is better than Cure”.
